Recently, the Philippines spoke out in outrage over the execution-style killing of grade 11 student Kian Loyd Delos Santos by Caloocan cops.
Kian is the latest casualty in the duterte regime’s brutal campaign against illegal drugs. The police Claim that the victim fought back, however, CCTV footage of the incident told an entirely different tale.
The footage shows Kian being dragged by cops in plain clothes to an obscure location. It was plain to see that he was powerless. The 17-year old boy’s body was found with two sachets of what cops suspected was shabu, a .45 caliber handgun, and four bullets.
A witness Claims that the cops put a gun in Kian’s hand. Understandably confused, the teenager asked, “Anong pong gagawin ko dito?” The plainclothes cops then responded with, “Iputok mo! Tapos tumakbo ka!”
Kian’s father, Saldy Delos Santos, has vehemently denied that his son is a drug user. In tears, Saldy shared that Kian hoped to be a police officer one day. Sadly, his dreams were cut short by the very same men he idolized.
Netizen Ezra Acayan shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, along with photos of Kian Loyd Delos Santos’ wake.
Saldy said that Kian was a good son and a diligent student. The grieving father was confused as to how police officers were able to find a concealed gun on Kian’s person as he was only wearing boxer shorts when he was taken and executed.
Photographer Ezra Acayan who was there to take pictures of the raid and its aftermath said that Kian Delos Santos was just there to close up shop. Plenty of proof supporting Kian’s innocence is circulating online, from eyewitness accounts to the aforementioned CCTV footage.
Kian’s mom, an OFW named Lorenza Delos Santos, came home to a terrible tragedy. Lorenza shared that her son was hooked on the Netflix show Narcos, a crime drama series about notorious drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. Lorenza recalled that her son hoped to be the kind of man who could bring someone like Escobar to justice.
Sadly, it is now Kian Loyd Delos Santos and his bereaved family who are in dire need of justice.
